Future Of Work Experiences – Shelly Inso, Junior Sales Manager Supply DACH

Homelike’s approach to the future of work is centered around trust and flexibility. We give our employees the possibility to work from home as well as to have freedom to work from outside their country of employment for 2 whole months a year. This flexibility has definitely shaped the experience for many of our employees – read their stories in order to learn more about the effect of our β€œfuture of work” concept on their journeys.

“I took the opportunity to see for myself whether I still wanted to live in Germany or somewhere else in the world.”

Shelly Inso, Junior Sales Manager Supply DACH

“I have taken advantage of Homelike’s future of work policy and worked from Portugal for one whole month! I work in sales and therefore the working time is very flexible despite the customer contact. I decided to work half a day for 3 weeks. On bad days, I worked the whole day and could take another day off completely. The main difference from my routine was the working hours and the way of working. I had to restructure myself in order to work as effectively as possible in half of the working time. I worked until 12 pm local time in Portugal, so I had the opportunity to make use of the entire day. I spent the days at different beaches, I could go to different cities and I still had a lot of options, even when I was working.

I took the opportunity to see for myself whether I still wanted to live in Germany or somewhere else in the world. This way I could experience different countries’ culture. I would definitely do it again in the future and next time I would like to try Italy!”

Recommendations:

We spent most of our time in the Algarve. I would recommend staying in Lagos. There are many nice bars and restaurants like the PomΓ² – la pasta bio Italiana.

I can also recommend Porto MΓ³s Beach. They offer many typical activities like canoe tours, boat trips, or water sports. A canoe tour through the caves is a MUST.

A visit to Lisbon should not be missed, it is such a lively city with beautiful corners. Enjoy the sunset on the Castelo de SΓ£o Jorge with a beer or sangria and start your party night in Bario Alto.
