- Homelikeβs Enhanced Hygiene Initiative was conceived based on guidelines from leading health organizations such as the WHO and CDC
- More than 50% of Homelike landlords have already updated their listings in compliance with the recommendations
- The initiative includes six hygiene, sanitation and safety measures to be implemented by landlords in all countries where Homelike is operational
Homelike has officially launched its Enhanced Hygiene Initiative to ensure the safety and security of all guests during these difficult times. The company is working together with its landlords and property suppliers in all countries to implement improved cleaning, hygiene, and distancing protocols. The enhanced hygiene initiative is an extension of Homelikeβs 10 Apartment Standards that are already in place to maximize guest comfort and experience.
Safety guidelines included in the Enhanced Hygiene Initiative have been communicated to all suppliers and Homelike actively encourages them to commit to and comply with the recommendations. Each apartment offering enhanced hygiene practices contains a reference in the respective highlight section of the listing. This enables full transparency for our tenants in the search for their new home away from home.
"Guest wellbeing is our top priority. More than 50% of our landlords are already firmly committed to our hygiene protocols and distancing standards. The offered hygiene measures are clearly displayed during apartment searches so that guests can book with confidence and enjoy a worry-free stay in every city. In the coming months, we expect more suppliers to follow suit".
Dustin Figge, CEO of Homelike
The initiative consists of 6 important hygiene and physical distancing guidelines:
- In addition to regular cleaning practices, all surfaces and high touch areas are to be sanitised with approved disinfectants
- Guests should be given thorough information about all distancing and cleanliness measures applicable in and around the building including emergency contact numbers for medical assistance should they start showing symptoms of COVID-19
- Self check-in options for accessing the apartment without human contact should be available
- Options for weekly, monthly or quarterly cleaning including thorough disinfection after check-in will be available
- Keep the apartment vacant for at least 24 hours prior to guest arrival
- Provide hygiene products such as sanitisers and masks at the time of move-in or upon request from guests
In addition to the aforementioned measures, many suppliers have also agreed to flexible or free cancellation options to help guests adjust their travel plans with ease in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Despite the hardships that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused for the travel industry, Homelike is confident in its ability to evolve in an effort to reopen the world responsibly without jeopardizing the safety and wellbeing of the community.
